There is a growing recognition of the role of quality non-degree credentials (QNDCs) in addressing workforce needs and expanding access to postsecondary education. However, policymakers must understand whether these credentials provide strong outcomes for students and workers to ensure public policy promotes equitable credential attainment and achieves state goals. This session will convene state leaders to delve into the critical aspects of state investment, measurement, and communication regarding QNDCs and pathways. It will explore how Arkansas, Minnesota, and Texas are currently navigating the landscape of QNDCs, emphasizing the significance of robust state-level data collection, analysis, and reporting to help policymakers maximize the impact of QNDC investments as a pathway to equitable access and inclusivity for quality education and workforce opportunities for students and workers.
