National Skills Coalition (NSC) and Business Leaders United for Workforce Partnerships (BLU) are convening Industry Recovery Panels to ensure federal recovery initiatives include investments in workforce training and supports to help workers and businesses adapt to structural shifts in their industries.
A group of more than 60 national business leaders, labor leaders, community college leaders, industry training providers, and others will serve on four industry recovery panels that will advise the Biden administration and Congress on federal recovery policies in the coming months.
Consistent with our Inclusive Economic Recovery framework, the Industry Recovery Panels will help address:
Skills training alone will not ensure an inclusive recovery, but it must be part of our nation’s federal policy response.
Different industries have experienced the COVID-19 pandemic in different ways. Recognizing this, the Biden Administration and new Congress are poised to make significant investments in industry specific economic recovery policies. For these policies to succeed, industry leaders must shape them – specifically, business leaders, labor leaders, colleges, training providers, workforce boards, and others who have been a part of successful industry specific workforce training strategies.
