Originally from Northern Ireland, Dr. Sharon Harrison has lived in Oklahoma for over 25 years and has more than three decades of experience in workforce training. Sharon is the founder and CEO of Harrison Consulting Group, a team that leads industry workforce and engagement initiatives for national projects, the Oklahoma Manufacturing Association (OMA), the Central Oklahoma Manufacturing Association (COMA), and facilitating workforce programs, Registered Apprenticeship Intermediary, research projects, and industry events. She is also the founder of the non-profit Evolving Skills Foundation that addresses culture, middle management trust, technical skill development and employability skills, especially for individuals who are experiencing disadvantaged economic conditions.
Sharon has extensive experience designing skills-based curriculum and program implementation for major corporations, public sector organizations, and non-profits locally, nationally, and internationally. She has also had significant achievements in grant writing, including a multi-million-dollar federal grant to start and run an industry-led Manufacturing Skills Academy in Oklahoma City, which trains participants in employability skills (both interpersonal and life) and critical occupation technical skills that will be necessary for successful careers in manufacturing.
Sharon holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, where her research focused on “Manufacturing Skills in Oklahoma.”
