Scott Paul

Former Board Member

Scott is President of the Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM), a partnership established in 2007 by some of America’s leading manufacturers and the United Steelworkers union. Scott and AAM have worked to make American manufacturing a top‐of‐mind issue for voters and our national leaders through effective advocacy, innovative research, and a savvy public relations strategy. He is a co‐author of ‘ReMaking America, has testified before several committees of the House and Senate, and regularly blogs for Huffington Post, CNBC, and Industry Week.

Prior to forming AAM, Scott worked on the legislative staff of the AFL‐CIO. He served (and interned) on Capitol Hill at various times from 1987 to 2001, and concluded his work in Congress as the chief foreign policy and trade advisor to House Democratic Whip David E. Bonior (D‐MI).

Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in foreign service and international politics from Penn State and a master’s degree with honors in security studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. Scott held a position on NSC’s Board from 2013-2022, serving time as treasurer and board chair.
