Sheridan Nixon

Assistant Vice Chancellor, Workforce Programs, Dallas College

Mr. Sheridan Nixon currently serves as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Workforce Programs. Most recently, Mr. Nixon was the Director of Advancement Strategy at Dallas College where he assessed resources to design strategies to scale opportunities focused on sustainability for student success. He has vast experience in higher education all focused on workforce and economic development from case managing HSE learners to organizing field tests for the City of Dallas and The Barbara Bush Foundation Adult Literacy. Mr. Nixon was the inaugural Director of the Dallas County Parent Promise program, where Dallas College provides wraparound support, including a last-dollar scholarship to parents of students who are part of the Dallas County Promise. Mr. Nixon also won the Innovation of the Year award for Dallas College through his work with Adult and Workforce Education; he has presented at several conferences including CAEL and NCPN. Mr.Nixon earned his bachelor’s degree at Southern Arkansas University and his master’s from Amberton University. His life’s mission is to change people’s lives for the better through education.
