Van currently is the founding CEO of Futuro Health, a $130 million cooperative effort between SEIU United Healthcare West and Kaiser Permanente focused on growing the nation’s largest network of credentialed allied health workers.  Previously, she was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to serve as  Vice Chancellor of Economic and Workforce Development for California’s Community Colleges. Prior to her appointment, Van was the Director of Workforce Development at Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), where she developed PG&E’s PowerPathway, a nationally recognized industry-based model program in workforce development.  During that time she also served as co-chair of the California Energy & Utility Workforce Consortium (CEUW), on the National Commission on Energy Policy’s (NCEP) America’s Task Force on Future Energy Jobs, and on the executive committee of the Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD).

At the national level, Van was as one of ten industry leaders serve on the Obama Commerce Department’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board (PERAB), and was one of five corporate leaders invited to attend the first ever White House Community College Summit.

Van held a position on NSC’s Board from 2012-2022, serving time as board vice chair.
