NSC CEO Andy Van Kleunen was quoted in a Public Now article about workforce investments proposed by the Biden administration. The House Committee on Education and Labor held a press conference that on the importance of making bold investments in workforce development. Van Kleunen emphasizes the significance of including investments in worker training, that, “Inevitably, those in most need of those skilled jobs never have the chance to train for one. They don’t get the chance to jump-start new careers to support themselves and their communities.”
Public Now reports that the Biden-Harris plan would help dislocated workers and create many apprenticeship opportunities, especially for women and people of color.
“The $100 billion investment called for in the American Jobs Plan ensure that all Americans-including those most impacted by the pandemic-have a chance to share in the jobs created,” Van Kleunen adds.
