The Skills in the States Forum convenes state and local leaders from across the country who are working to bring skills training opportunities to more people through policy changes in their states to ensure an inclusive economic recovery.

At the 2022 Forum, attendees had the chance to:

  • Learn about new policy innovations and key workforce development issues in the states;
  • Discuss strategies for moving policies forward in the states; and
  • Hear how partners across our state networks are organizing around skills policies that expand economic opportunity and racial equity for workers while boosting local businesses.

2022 Keynote Speaker

Day one of the 2022 SSF kicked off with an address from Clair Minson, Founder & Principal at Sandra Grace LLC and a leading expert on the intersection of racial equity and workforce development. Clair spoke to stakeholders on the manifestations of systemic and institutional racism in workforce policies, practices, and cultural messaging, along with strategies for dismantling and creating more equitable, inclusive systems.
