Yesterday, the Obama Administration announced almost $15 million in grant funding to 36 projects across the country as part of the The Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization (POWER) Initiative. The POWER Initiative is jointly administered by the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and the Appalachian Regional Commission. Awards went to 12 states and tribal nations, and recipients are tasked with expanding economic opportunity for their regions, local employers, and workers.
