Advocating for Adult Education: When Learners Take the Lead

Advocates for adult education are often seeking to help state legislators and other policymakers understand how policies affect the real lives of their constituents. In this webinar, hear from adult learners who have become their own storytellers, helping to lift up the importance of adult education in their own lives and in their communities more broadly. Get a practical overview of how adult education program directors can foster advocacy skills among adult learners/program participants, and hear from learners directly about how they have build their confidence and power to advocate for strong policies.

Speakers: Diane Jackson, Queen Creek Family Resource Center (Phoenix, AZ) and Student Ambassadors Maybelin Rodriguez, Maria Alvidrez , Martha Bomann, and Ana Morin. Moderated by NSC Director of Upskilling Amanda Bergson-Shilcock
